Ask your employer
Ask your practice to invest in you
Lots of practices have a budget for CPD and development, and asking is a completely professional thing to do. Here's everything you need to make the case, including an email that writes itself.
It's OK to ask
Asking your employer to invest in your development isn't cheeky. It's what good practices want: people who grow, stay and bring what they learn back to the team. The worst they can say is no, and even then you've started a useful conversation about what support might be possible.
The case for your practice

- 01
Keeps good people
Replacing a team member takes time, money and energy. Investing in someone's growth is one of the clearest ways to show they're valued and help them stay.
- 02
Confidence shows up in the consult room
Confident team members make decisions sooner, communicate more clearly with clients and take on more.
- 03
Better teams, not just better individuals
What people learn about communication, boundaries and confidence ripples into the whole team.
- 04
CPD that sticks
Six or twelve months of coaching, CPD and community, not a one-off day. New habits have time to take root.
- 05
Built for vetmed
Created and led by Katie and Claire, vets with nearly 30 years in clinical practice between them and somatic, trauma-informed coaches.
- 06
Easy to say yes to
We can invoice your practice directly, with monthly options for the Signature Programme. Questions? Your manager can talk to us.

Tips for the conversation
- 1
You don't have to wait
Appraisals, CPD reviews and budget planning are useful moments to ask, but they're not the only ones. If you need support now, that's reason enough to ask.
- 2
Talk about the practice, not just you
What will the team and your clients get from you growing?
- 3
Follow up in person
An email opens the door. A short chat often gets the yes.
- 4
A no isn't the end
Ask what might be possible instead: part funding, protected time, or asking again later in the year.
